Tarheel Fireplace & Grill Shop is owned and operated by Roy & Gay Murray of Hertford, NC. They started as chimney sweeps in 1992. Over the years customers kept asking for hearth products, so a small shop was opened in their home.
In 1998 as they continued to add products and grow they moved to their current location, at 657 Ocean Hwy. S. in Hertford. They sell, install and service wood, pellet and gas stoves, fireplaces and gas logs.
In 2002 they started a competition bbq team “Tarheel Smokers” and with that the fireplace shop added grills, grilling accessories, bbq rubs and sauces. They are still growing adding grill islands, grilling accessories, pergolas, fire pits, gas lanterns, outdoor furniture, flags, spinners and more.
Their specialty has now become creating amazing outdoor living spaces.
